Life With Spirit
Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is based on a 75-acre site adjacent to the runway at Subang Airport near Kuala Lumpur. The 242,000-square-foot facility was announced in 2007 and became operational early in 2009. The facility acts as a hub in the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen existing supplier relationships while also developing the global manufacturing capability for Spirit. The facility is aligned to provide a variety of manufacturing, engineering, and support functions. Initial products include a number of composite subassemblies, principally on Airbus single-aisle aircraft. The operation also is providing design support for the A350 XWB leading edge lower panels.

One the many major tourist destinations in the region is the the Petronas Twin Towers in nearby Kuala Lumpur – the tallest twin towers in the world – which stand out in the city's skyline. Kuala Lumpur is also the home of many arts, cultural and educational institutions, including several universities.

Spirit has a long history of manufacturing in Asia through the use of key strategic suppliers. Spirit Malaysia acts as a hub in the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen existing supplier relationships while also developing the global manufacturing capability of the whole Spirit business.
